Beach It Up On Your Myrtle Beach Vacation
If you love sinking your toes into warm, white sand and crystal clear blue water, Myrtle Beach is the perfect vacation destination for you. Over 60 miles of soft sandy beaches has cemented Myrtle Beach as a major tourist destination. Our beaches extend from Calabash, NC down to Georgetown, SC. Myrtle Beach is located on a barrier island in Long Bay wedged between the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway and the Atlantic Ocean. Myrtle Beach’s mild, oceanic feel is a result of a humid, subtropical climate. Afternoon rain showers are common year round and help to cool off the hot beaches.
Tired of lying on the beach? Get active with one of our fun beach activities. Myrtle Beach is home to several activities such as parasailing, banana boat rides, ocean kayak rentals and of course surfing and body boarding. If the waves are flat, you may want to choose a stand up paddle board. Stand up paddle boards do not require any waves, and provide a great work out. Check out Express Water Sports for great beach activity packages at www.expresswatersports.com. There are a few helpful tips and rules that can help ensure you have the best vacation possible. We love our beaches, and work hard to protect them, therefore it is against the law to drive a car on the beach. Also, use caution when swimming in the ocean. No diving or jumping from piers is allowed and only canvas rafts may be used in the ocean. If you’re traveling to the Grand Strand with a beloved pet, make sure you pack a leash. All animals on the beach must be on a leash that is no longer than 6 feet. Animals are not allowed on the beach between 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. from June 1st to September 1st. We know you may want to quench your thirst with an alcoholic beverage, so come to one of our ocean front restaurants and bars to have a drink off of the beach. No open containers are permitted in any public place, including our beautiful beaches.
